Why is it important to let go of your ego?

If you let go of the need to feel like everyone has to think highly of you, then this can help you focus on what’s important in life – such as doing meaningful work or spending quality time with loved ones instead of worrying about whether someone doesn’t like you because they don’t understand your sense of humor.

Is it good to let go of your ego?

So, does it make sense to “let go of your ego”? The short answer is: yes — but not before you have made it strong and healthy. If you try to “abandon your ego” before you work on its suppressed issues (in my case: self-deprecation and low self-esteem) those issues will continue to chase you along your spiritual path.

What does it mean to surrender the ego?

Surrendering the ego is letting go of our opinion, good or bad, of who we are. Releasing our opinion of ourselves, opens us to see the truth of who we are in and of the world. We let go of the personal entity we have created and can begin to see ourselves as part of the whole collective universal spirit.

  1. Practice forgiveness & letting go. “The weak can never forgive.
  2. Practice honesty and being open.
  3. Surrender your need for control.

  5. Practice gratitude.

  1. Do something nice for a subordinate.
  2. Tell someone something you’ve been keeping in for long.
  3. Let someone else talk for a change.
  4. And really listen to them.
  5. Step down if you have to.
  6. Compliment someone.
  7. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes.
  8. Maybe avoid using the word “I” often.

What happens when you don’t let go of the ego?

Whey you connect to your inner being, you feel empowered and balanced. You lose your true power when you are not present, and by not being present your not letting go of the ego. Letting go of the Ego by being present – is the key to happiness!

Can the ego survive the present moment?

We also learned that the ego cannot survive the present moment. So, in order to find our true selves, we need to become aware of the ego. When we are aware of the ego (by being present) – we cannot be totally possessed by the thought form or the emotional form of the ego.

Does the ego know itself?

The ego does not know that all its beliefs, self-perception, and traits are created and chosen. It may not even know that this ego/identity even exists nor that it can be changed. It simply believes that the person is the way s/he is, and life is as they perceive it.

Why is the ego blocked by the spirit?

Because the ego is blocking the spirit – and the spirit has direct access to the universal forces – the same energy that creates worlds! When you stop resisting and become absolutely still and present, you allow your spirit to enter your consciousness – and when this happens, you will get true guidance that will help you make positive changes.
