What if Sam didnt go with Frodo?

Posted on August 25, 2022 by Author

What if Sam didnt go with Frodo?

If Sam wasn’t there, either Frodo would have succumbed to the Ring and become like Gollum, or Shelob would have succeeded in killing him. Well the implication is that Gollum probably successfully ambushes and eats Frodo, then takes his ring back. Sam probably went with Merry and Pippin into Fangorn Forest.

Would Frodo have made it without Sam?

Frodo literally would have died, likely along with Merry and Pippin (but not Sam, because he’s heroic) before they even reached Bree. This would have completely betrayed their position and Frodo would have been taken and killed. Thankfully, Sam slapped his dear friend and the journey was prolonged.

Why can’t Sam carry the Ring for Frodo?

Because the Ring had its hooks far too deeply into Frodo mind. This had been true even before Rivendell, where Frodo suddenly saw Bilbo himself as a repellent little creature trying to steal the Ring, just because Bilbo had asked if he might see it one more time.

Why can only hobbits carry the ring?

Chief among the reasons that the hobbits are more resistant to the Ring is that they do not crave power, lust after fame, or desire to rule over any others. Many of the other characters in The Lord of the Rings have their own agendas and secret desires, which the Ring is able to corrupt them through.

How many times does Sam save Frodo?

Sam saves Frodo like eight times — from drowning, from Orcs, from a giant spider…), though it’s only at the climax of the entire series that we get to witness his true mettle.

Would Frodo and Sam have made it without Gollum?

Would Frodo and Sam have made it to Mt. Doom without Gollum? No, not at all. Gollum not only guides them out from Emyn Muil, the rock labyrinth after nearly killing them, he safely takes them through the dead marshes, to the Black Gate, and safely up Cirith Ungol.

What would happen if Sam got the Ring?

After Sam took the Ring from Frodo when he thought he had died, Sam intended to complete the mission by himself. If Sam had carried the Ring, then based on what happens in the books, he would have been able to resist the temptation the Ring offered and throw the Ring into the fires with little to no hesitation.

Does Frodo abandon Sam in The Return of the King?

If we were hoping to see Frodo and Sam’s relationship build over time, the fact that Frodo again abandons Sam in The Return of the King should read as somewhat problematic in a healthy friendship. Obviously Gollum and the ring are a huge factor at this point but seriously?

Did Frodo ever Cook on the journey to Mount Doom?

Not once do we see Frodo do any of the cooking on their long journey to Mount Doom. Sure, later on, he is in no shape what so ever to be of assistance (thanks a lot One Ring) but even in the beginning, we don’t see Frodo lift a finger. He’s very much the boss and Sam very much the lackey.

Is Frodo in love with Gollum?

Well, not exactly. Frodo is super into trusting Gollum and letting him lead their little expedition to Mordor and Mount Doom. One would have thought that this employee/employer relationship had grown enough in the direction of true friendship that Frodo might take Sam’s misgivings into account, but he doesn’t, so there’s that.

What did Sam Sam do on the journey to Mordor?

Sam not only carries all their supplies as they head off alone toward Mordor, but he also does all the work when it comes time to use those supplies. Not once do we see Frodo do any of the cooking on their long journey to Mount Doom.
