What happened to each silmaril?
Instead of killing them, Eonwe permitted them to leave with the jewels. Each brother took one. But the Silmarils would not abide their touch because of their evil deeds, and both brothers were burnt by them. Maedhros, perceiving that the oath was void, cast himself and the jewel into a burning chasm.
How did morgoth lose the Silmarils?
One of the Silmarils was recovered by Beren and Lúthien through great peril and loss, when Lúthien sent Morgoth to sleep with her singing and Beren cut it from his crown.
What happened to Irime?
Irime was closest to Fingolfin out of her entire family, and when Fingolfin followed Feanor into exile, Irime went with him. What ultimately became of Irime is unknown. We don’t know if she died in Beleriand, or if she returned to Valinor after the War of Wrath.

Why did feanor create the Silmarils?
The Silmarils were created by Fëanor in Valinor after the unchaining of Melkor. According to a legend, Fëanor conceived the idea of capturing the light of the trees from the hair of Galadriel, which shone with gold and silver. Fëanor gave his heart to their making and could not duplicate them.
Is the Arkenstone one of the silmarils?
Reality: The Arkenstone is not a Silmaril. First, Tolkien wrote that the two lost Silmarils would remain lost until the end of Arda. One of them being found by the Dwarves would contradict this. Second, a Silmaril is a gemstone hallowed by Varda which would not suffer the touch of mortal or evil hands.

What happened to the Silmaril?
When Sam uses some of it via Galadriel: chasing a spawn of Ungoliant, breaking an invisible barrier. And their eventual fate – one into the sky, one into the sea, one into lava. The Silmarils had no power in and of themselves.
Why can’t the Silmarils touch Morgoth’s hands?

That wasn’t a power of the Silmarils; that was because “Varda hallowed the Silmarils so that thereafter no mortal flesh, nor hands unclean, nor anything of evil will might touch them, but it was scorched and withered.”.
Why did Luthien wear Silmarils?
So maybe Silmarils could somehow enhance natural traits of beings who had them (sort of like the Rings of Power, but in their case through the holy light which the jewels contained), we know that Luthien’s beauty was increased (and I doubt that it was only the matter of stylish jewellery:)
Why did Morgoth want the two trees of Fëanor?
The Valar could have potentially returned the Two trees to life since the Silmarils contained their Light, but Fëanor refused to give them up. Morgoth wanted them because they were the last, best creation of the First Age and holding the Light of the Two Trees was a treasure of incalculable wealth.
