What does XMP profile do?

XMP profiles automatically set your system RAM to higher frequencies. XMP or Extreme Memory Profiles, is an Intel technology that allows you to change multiple memory settings by simply selecting a different profile, taking advantage of higher than standard memory speeds.

Should I turn on XMP profile?

Using XMP won’t void RAM warranty but can void CPU warranty. If do not want to void warranty, ask your cpu manufacturer if it’s okay to use the higher frequency with you CPU. Other than that, no harm in trying. XMP is very safe.

Can enabling XMP cause crashes?

Enabling XMP can cause a blue screen of death because you are overclocking your system and this causes errors in the computers memory which can trigger a blue screen of death. Below I will show you how you can safely enable XMP on your system and avoid these crashes.

I don’t know a lot about it but after researching XMP I brought myself a conclusion that since it is meant to make overclocking easier then yes it should increase FPS.

Without xmp your ram will clock at the max supported speed of your cpu which is typically 2133 or 2166 mhz depending on how new your cpu is. Xmp should allow for higher clocks then 2133 if you have a newer board. You can set your speeds manaully too if you have to.
