After his death, Finwë dwelt for a time in the Halls of Mandos where he met Míriel, his first wife. Later, when the Valar agreed that Finwë should be brought back to life, he instead decided not to, thus giving Míriel a chance to be reincarnated.
Did fingolfin get reincarnated?
Fingolfin was never, and I mean never, mentioned again after his death. But as the 2nd (officially recognized) High King of the Noldor, Strongest Elf Ever and Wounder of Morgoth, he definitly earned his reconsititution.

They had a son called Fëanor but her labors in giving birth to him drained her of most of her life, and she died shortly after bearing him. After a period of mourning he married again. There Finwë lived with his son and his grandchildren and some of the rest of his house.

After his death, when his sons wanted to carry his body away, it simply burned or turned into ashes which were carried by the wind. Then his “soul” went to Valinor.

Angband was besieged by the Noldor during the early part of the First Age, but the siege was broken at the Dagor Bragollach. It was finally destroyed by the forces of the Valar at the end of the First Age, in the War of Wrath.

What does the name Finwe mean?
Quenya name; the meaning is unclear, but is most likely derived from the element fin “hair”. Finwë was the original High King of the Noldor Elves in the works of J. R. R. Tolkien. Finwë renounced his kingship to his eldest son and was later slain by Morgoth.
