Is it bad to change yourself?

Trying to change yourself—that is, who you are—will inevitably lead you to fail and feel hopeless. But if you instead focus on changing your actions without worrying about how it changes you as a person, real change becomes much simpler. You can’t change yourself, so don’t even try.

Is it good to change who you are?

Sometimes changing yourself is good for a relationship—in fact, often it’s absolutely necessary. Many of these changes will happen naturally throughout the course of your relationship; others will be harder adjustments, transitions that require a lot of work from both of you.
