According to a report on US movie-going habits by research firm Nielsen, 80\% of film viewers will consult critics’ reviews when they’re considering what to watch.

No Never do it, because the critics and reviews for a particular movie is based on their point of view. Not nowadays… Previously I used to read reviews before going to watch any film. Reviews may sometimes spoil the experience of watching a movie…

How are movie ratings calculated on IMDb?
All the registered members of IMDb can cast their votes/ratings for any movie. IMDb takes all the individual votes cast by the registered users and uses them to calculate a single rating. But, they don’t use the arithmetic mean or median of the votes to get the final rating. The rating displayed on a movie’s page is a weighted average rating.

Please take note of the distinction between quality and quantity. To keep it discernible in what follows, I will refer to ratings (quantity) as being low, average, or high. As before, the movie quality is expressed as bad, average, or good. If you worry about the “average” term being the same, don’t, because I will take care to avoid any ambiguity.
