Do all objects emit electromagnetic radiation?

All objects emit electromagnetic radiation according to their temperature. Colder objects emit waves with very low frequency (such as radio or microwaves), while hot objects emit visible light or even ultraviolet and higher frequencies. Red stars are cooler, and they emit the most radiation in the red wavelengths.

Why do all bodies emit radiation?

Because objects are composed of smaller charged parts in constant motion and changes in this motion. On deceleration, charged objects emit radiation, and on acceleration they absorb radiation.

An ideal body is now defined, called a blackbody. A blackbody allows all incident radiation to pass into it (no reflected energy) and internally absorbs all the incident radiation (no energy transmitted through the body). Hence the blackbody is a perfect absorber for all incident radiation.

Why does radiation get absorbed?

In physics, absorption of electromagnetic radiation is how matter (typically electrons bound in atoms) takes up a photon’s energy — and so transforms electromagnetic energy into internal energy of the absorber (for example, thermal energy).
