Why is Korra still powerful in the Avatar State?

Since the Avatar, while in the Avatar state gets all power and wisdom of the previous Avatars the current Avatar is the most powerful. This would make Korra more powerful in the Avatar state were it not for the fact that she lost the connection to all her past lives.

Is Korra’s Avatar state weaker than Aang’s?

Korra’s avatar state isn’t weak. So when korra is in the avatar state her attacks are just as powerful as aang’s,however she does not have the privilege to use all the techniques and channel the experiences of her past lives,you can see this from her fight with the red lotus.
