Why are there two versions of Minecraft on PC?

There are different update versions because they all contain different things. Newer update versions have more content than ones from many years ago. The current minecraft version is 1.14. Different versions of minecraft include Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, Xbox 360 Edition, One Edition, PS3/4/Vita Edition, etc.

Is Minecraft on Xbox the same version as PC?
