What would happen if you put acoustic strings on an electric guitar?

You could put acoustic guitar strings on an electric guitar but it will affect your tone : acoustic guitar strings are brass and it will not be as resonant as regular electric guitar strings. Acoustic guitar strings have a higher gauge which will make your strings feel stiff and harder to bend.

Can you restring an electric guitar with acoustic strings?
