What are the requirements to pursue military training as an option?
For Enlisted Soldiers
- Prove you are U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card (officially known as a Permanent Resident Card)
- Be between 17-35 years old.
- Achieve a minimum score on the ASVAB test.
- Meet medical, moral, and physical requirements.
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Why are soldiers so muscular?
Modern soldiers have access to a lot of convenient gyms. Their gear is understandablely really heavy. So they bulk up to make this stuff easier to carry, and so they can look real good, 2 birds 1 stone. Every time they come out with new “light weight” gear, they replaced the weight saved with something else.
Is bodybuilding good for Military?
Short: bodybuilders don’t make good combat soldiers. There might be a few jobs in the army where having some extra muscles is an advantage (maybe in an engineer unit) but not with the infantry. All the extra-kilos you have to carry around are an impediment. Skinny but strong is the best for a rifleman.
Can you have your phone at basic training?

What can I do if I can’t join the military?

- Get a job with the federal government.
