It gets worse when you realize that Loki played a small but vital role in the events that led to Frigga’s death; he told Kurse to “take the stairs to the left”, which allowed Kurse to drop Asgard’s defenses, thus allowing Malekith and the other Elves inside.

Malekith wanted Jane from the beginning, seeing as she became host to the Aether and was currently harboring it in her body. Like an Infinity Stone baby. The Aether is the McMuffin that Malekith wanted to use to revert the entire universe back to a state of dark using its awesome powers.
What is heimdall the god of?
