Beekeeping has become a trendy hobby in Germany, particularly in Berlin, where many aspiring beekeepers are failing to get the proper training. The result is thousands of bees, swarms of them, bumbling around, looking for a place to call home. It’s become a big problem for the city.

There are threes castes of honey bees: drones, queens, and workers (Figure 1). Drones—Drones are male honey bees. Workers—Worker honey bees usually are non-reproductive females. They are the smallest in physical size of the three castes, and their bodies are specialized for pollen and nectar collection.
