What the Quran says about the people of the book?

In the Quran the term ahl al-kitāb, “people of the book” refers to Jews, Christians, and Sabians. The scriptures referred to in the Quran are the Torah (at-tawraat), the Psalms (az-zabur) and the Gospel (al-injiil).
