What personality do journalists have?

Journalists tend to be predominantly artistic individuals, meaning that they are creative and original and work well in a setting that allows for self-expression. They also tend to be enterprising, which means that they are usually quite natural leaders who thrive at influencing and persuading others.

How does a journalist prepare for an interview?

Most agree the reporter should: Identify himself or herself at the outset of the interview. State the purpose of the interview. Make clear to those unaccustomed to being interviewed that the material will be used. Tell the source how much time the interview will take. Keep the interview as short as possible. Ask specific questions that the source is competent to answer.

How to research for an interview?

1) Research The Company Website. Go to their website and find out about what products or services they provide. What do they sell and how do they make money? 2) Search Google News ( news.google.com ) For The Company Name. This is a relatively short step, but still important for how to research a company before your interview. 3) Social Media Accounts. Check out the company’s social media profiles (I suggest LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) to see recent news you might have missed on Google News in step 4) Competitor Research. If you really want to impress the company with how much you researched them before the interview… head over to similarweb.com, type the company name or website 5) Research Employees (on LinkedIn) Search on LinkedIn to find employees of the company. Better yet, find people in the same type of group or role that you’re interviewing for. 6) Research the Hiring Manager. You can also use LinkedIn to research the hiring manager. This is a great way to prepare to pass your interview. 7) Research the Company’s YouTube. You can also look for the company on YouTube. Do a quick search and see if they have an account.
