While there can be some benefits to playing video games, both on behavior and brain health, it’s not a risk-free hobby. Playing games for an extended period of time on a regular basis isn’t good for your physical health and can possibly hinder your social skills. Being active is a critical aspect of our overall health.

Anhedonia is one of the main symptoms of major depressive disorder (MDD). It is the loss of interest in previously rewarding or enjoyable activities. People suffering from clinical depression lose interest in hobbies, friends, work, and even food and sex. It’s as if the brain’s pleasure circuits shut down or short out.
Why is gaming getting boring?
Gaming can get boring for you for a wide number of reasons. Sometimes, people play games too much out of excitement or because they are asked to by a friend over and over, this can get repetitive and eventually make you lose interest in certain games.

The worse of it all, I didn’t acknowledge that gaming was a problem in my life. I thought addiction, real addiction, was something different, far away from my reality. No, not me. I’m not sick. Eventually, and with a little bit of luck, I got the certificate of proficiency that I needed. I got approved in my first try on the exam.
What keeps you from exploring more of your interests?
Often, a lack of the latter keeps us from exploring more of the former. Challenge yourself to try more activities to see if they might peak your interest, even though you think you might fail. Think of them as trial runs or tests, if you will, to help you determine whether they’re worth pursuing.
