Is it OK to meditate on bed?

It is ok to meditate in bed (or any other comfortable place), which you can feel relaxed and have positive, peaceful and quiet moment to focus with yourself. Of course! Meditation should ideally be performed in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere and in a body position which allows for muscle relaxation and deep breathing.

What direction should you face when meditating?

According to Vastu Shastra, the northeast corner is known as Ishan (the corner for Ishwar or God). This direction is where Earth’s powerful magnetic energy is generated. Therefore, this is an ideal location for a meditation or prayer room.

What time of day should you meditate?

Morning
Morning is often considered to be the best time to meditate, since the mind is quiet and fresh. Most of us are also less likely to doze off in the early hours. People who practice every day appreciate morning meditation since it sets a calm and productive tone before the day’s activities and distractions begin.

Does it feel uncomfortable to meditate on the floor?

If you are trying to sit cross-legged on the floor then, yes, it will get uncomfortable. But you can sit upright in a firm and comfortable chair instead. Or, you can do walking meditation, or yoga, or tai chi. Moving meditation can be just as beneficial as sitting.

How long does it take to practice meditation?

It is much better to practice for a just a sort time and to enjoy what you are doing than to sit there, teeth gritted, because you’ve been told that only 30 or even 40 minutes will have any affect. Meditation is a companion to have throughout life, like an old friend you turn to when in need of support, inspiration, and clarity.

Why is my mind so busy when I meditate?

Rather, it craves entertainment. It’s not as if you can suddenly turn it off when you meditate, it just means you are like everyone else. The experience of the busy mind is very normal. Someone once estimated that in any one thirty-minute session of meditation we may have upward of three hundred thoughts.

What is meditation and how does it work?

In other words, meditation is not about forcing the mind to be absolutely still. Rather, it’s a letting go of resistance, of whatever may arise: doubt, worry, uncertainty and feeling inadequate, the endless dramas, fear and desire.
