It’s normal and perfectly acceptable to feel nervous about undressing at the doctor’s office, especially if this is a new experience for you.

Can you be naked in the hospital?

Wear underwear under your gown unless you are being prepped for surgery or a procedure, such as colonoscopy.. But after surgery or your procedure you can wear underwear unless told otherwise. Yes, I’d say most patients are embarrassed to get naked, even when they know the reason for it and comply without prompting.
