Is it better to workout at home or gym?
Going to the gym isn’t the only way to get in a great workout. Working out at home can be just as effective. While a gym provides a dedicated space, home workouts offer more flexibility and can be more efficient. It all depends on how you use your time and equipment to maximize your effort.
Does home workout without equipment really work?
While using your own bodyweight can definitely give you a full-body workout, it can’t help you get everything you may want from a fitness routine. For example, you might need specific moves to help strengthen certain areas of your body that are hard to get to without equipment.

The EPOC rate is higher the harder you work, so lifting heavier weights is going to make your fat-burning system turn on higher and for longer. However, keep in mind that bodyweight training still utilizes EPOC and still provides an efficient way to build strength, burn calories and lose weight!

How can I stay fit at home without equipment?
Like me, you’ll probably have to stop to catch your breath a few times — it’s a tough workout!
- Pullups (palms facing away from you). Chinup bar required (here’s the one I use ).
- Pushups. As many as you can (video).
- Jump squats.
- Bicycle crunches.
- Jumping lunges.
- Burpees.
- Hanging knee raises.
- Hindu pushups.
Can we workout in home?
So are home workouts effective? The short answer is yes. Providing you are prepared to put a little time and effort into your workout at home, it can be just as effective as a gym workout.
How can I workout without equipment?
Combine 5–6 of these exercises to make one challenging routine:
- Rotational jacks. A twist on a jumping jack, rotational jacks are a good way to kick off a workout.
- Plank reach-unders. Planks are a basic (but not easy!)
- Step-ups.
- Mountain climbers.
- Squat jumps.
- Burpees.
- Standing side hops.
- Pullups.
At what age can we start gym?
But if you really want to hit the gym, you need to be at least 14 to 15 years old, though you should refrain from heavy lifting and concentrate on doing body weight exercises, yoga etc. If you want to lift weights, you could start off with light weights as your bones are still growing.
