A week later after the on-line contest, I got an email from HackerEarth, mentioning that I scored well but still didn’t get short-listed because of falling short of 3-6 years experience criteria.

HackerEarth had hosted a coding challenge of Cleartrip and it clearly mentioned that they could possibly offer opportunities for further interview rounds to people. As it was my first time giving a challenge of such kind, I didn’t have very high hopes.

For time being, they will schedule the calls and there will be no feedback after that. God knows why they are keeping challenges wasting people’s time. I think we can use Hacker Earth only for practice purpose. Probability is less even if you are shortlisted in coding test. Edits: Now totally I have been shortlisted for 15 Hacker Earth challenges.

What is the difference between HackerEarth and HackerRank?

Lacking some detail in its DS&A coverage: While HackerEarth has tutorials for its users while HackerRank doesn’t, they could be much better. They’re good for teaching you the fundamentals of data structures & algorithms, but if you want to turn that knowledge into proficiency, you’ll have to look for other resources in the long run.
