Why is my dieting not working?
Some people don’t follow their diets carefully and don’t lose much weight even from the start. Others may go off the diet entirely after a while, because it’s too restrictive or the foods aren’t appealing. Some may engage in less physical activity as they consume fewer calories.
Why have I stopped losing weight on Slimming World?
You’re Not Being Honest Sometimes the biggest reason for lack of success with Slimming World is that you’re not honest – there I said it! On Slimming World, you only have to measure your Healthy Extra’s and your Syns. Everything else is free, and you can eat as much of it as you like (see point above!)
Can you overeat on Slimming World?
Finally, since Slimming World discourages calorie counting and doesn’t specify appropriate portion sizes for the program’s Free Foods, some people may overeat them. Though Free Foods are satisfying, some can be high in calories and fairly low in nutrients, including potatoes and rice.

When trying to lose weight you must start exercising studies show that even walking a few times a week can help burn the extra calories that you want to burn. 30 + minutes a day is the best way to lose 7 lb in 2 weeks. If you can’t find 30 minutes try splitting it up into two 15-minute periods of exercise per day.

Clearly, Slimming World does work for some people, particularly in the short-term, but it does have fundamental problems that mean it won’t work for others even when following the ‘rules’. And if someone doesn’t get results despite following the rules, it can be really disheartening and they might feel like a failure.

Skipping Syns and Healthy Extras can result in no weight loss. Please remember that these are suggestions from me and I have many years of experience with SW. What works for me may not work for others.
