Oropher definitely was not of Thingol’s descendants nor his brother, Olwë’s. Those family trees have been fully fleshed out. That leaves Thingol’s other brother, Elmo. Elmo was Thingol’s younger brother who stayed with him in Beleriand instead of heading to Valinor.
