Why does temperature drop when it rains?

Heat is released when water vapor condenses to form rain. When the rain falls, it brings the warm air down to the surface hence raising the temperature. An approaching warm front brings rain as it moves above colder air and condenses.

Does rain make it colder outside?

Second, falling rain also encourages downward air movement, due to friction. So not only is rain (that is almost always colder) coming down, but air (that is almost always colder) is coming down too. Furthermore, rain is cooling the air it is falling through, colder air sinks, so the downdraft is further enhanced.

Why do we feel cold in rainy season?

As mentioned, the cold can weaken your immune system. When you get wet in the rain and remain that way for a long time, your body temperature drops, making you more prone to catching a cold.

Is it colder when it rains or after?

Why does it get cooler after a thunderstorm?

Unlike lighter rain and precipitation, thunderstorms have a huge amount of downdraft power. This means they mix down lots of winds and precipitation from higher up, where it’s cooler.
