Why does music have 8 beats?

A measure, a musical term, is a unit of time that counts virtually all dance music in groups of four beats. Actually, measures are naturally paired. So a set of 8 is just a combination of two four-beat measures, but sets of 8 work better for dancers because they’re more closely aligned to the natural structure.
