Why do I keep failing technical interviews?
A lot of it turns out to be half-baked or outdated or irrelevant to the software industry. Then they are declared unemployable by hardcore software engineering companies as they fail problem solving or coding interviews that require specific knowledge and preparation that wasn’t a rig.

Having said that, it is definitely possible to fail a question and still get an offer. I have made many offers to people who have failed a question. I look at the overall impression of the candidate and someone who impresses me on most counts will get a little slack if they make a mistake.
