Its political arm is BJP. Without RSS, the BJP will be nothing..The RSS provides the key cadres to BJP. They will only dominate and influence the party’s affairs. Even when they joined in the central government in 1977, the people who were made Ministers had RSS background.

What is the difference between BJP and Bharatiya Jana Sangh?

The founders and presidents of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh were the members of the RSS and BJS was formed with some core principles of RSS. The later presidents of BJS were also swayamsewaks of RSS. The BJP has only been a succession from the BJS hence the core principles are similar.
