Is it hard to learn English if you are Japanese?

In English there are far more sounds that don’t exist in Japanese. Learning Japanese phonetics for English speakers is relatively easy because we have the majority of the sounds also in English. I’ve been teaching English in Japan since 2001 and yes, English is notoriously difficult for Japanese to learn.
