Is ese mains tougher than GATE?

UPSC IES/ESE is for candidates who are job-oriented and are purely interested in securing central government jobs under different ministries/departments. ESE is more difficult compared to GATE in terms of difficulty and competition.

How tough is IES vs GATE?

Competition Level of IES and GATE Exam For IES, the ratio comes to 300:1. For GATE, the ratio is 10:1. With this ratio, it is concluded that in an IES exam, every single seat as 300 applicants. This factor makes IES a relatively tough competitive exam than GATE.

In one way YES. Around 60\% of IES syllabus will be GATE syllabus. So, you need to prepare extra subjects. Difference between GATE and IES is, in GATE you need to have in-depth analysis at least for important subjects.

How difficult is the gate compared to the IES?

The real difficulty of the IES lies in its time constraints during the paper. You have to solve 100 questions in 120 minutes in the GS paper and 150 questions in 180 minutes in the technical paper. GATE exam is like a one day match. You have only three hours and you have to give your 100\% in those three hours.

What is the difference between ESE and gate?

The ESE is conducted in various stages whereas GATE is a single stage examination. The Preliminary stage of ESE is conducted around the first week of January and in two sittings, of 2 hours and 3 hours for Paper-1 of GS and technical paper respectively.

What is the difference between the gate and theese?

ESE is for central government jobs in various engineering department under the Government of India.
