It’s rewarding. Your first solo flight, your first landing, your first flight to a new destination, flying an aircraft is rewarding from the moment you step into the cockpit. Also, the fact that you worked hard and finally get to do what you have prepared for a few years is definitely rewarding!

Is being a pilot the best job in the world?

According to U.S. News, in 2019 pilots in those jobs earned a median salary of $121,430, ranking it No. 14 in Best Paying Jobs. It also ranked No. 3 in Best Social Services Jobs in that the profession “is more of a calling than a choice and that helping people is one of the most rewarding parts.”

As a pilot, your career is to travel! Seeing new places, trying new foods, going between states or countries, all around the globe – you are able to explore so much more. With the experience of different cultures and stories to tell loved ones about different places, you’ll be a hit at the next gathering!

Other pilot health risks: Pilots and flight attendants are exposed to cosmic radiation, which in the long term can cause cancer and also to toxic cabin air, which has been linked to cancer, neurological problems, and fatigue.

Do airline pilots have a social life?

As rosters are only issued month by month, it can be quite difficult to plan long term important events and it’s very annoying if you have to miss them. So, yes, pilots do have a social life but it’s not one that the average person would understand.

Can a pilot have a girlfriend or wife?

Depending on their personal schedules, they can be away for up to 15 days at a time, so considering that the other person also has a life, they probably won’t get a lot of time together. But of course, it’s possible to have a girlfriend. Actually, I would say most pilots do quite well in relationships and actually do have a girlfriend or wife.
