Canada is a great country but Alaska is fundamentally more American in how most of us see certain things. Politics and social issues would put Alaska at odds with most of Canada in the event of a union. I feel like I have an outside perspective being an immigrant to the US/Alaska who has spent a lot of time in Canada as well.
