In General , as majority, Not Only North Indians , Indians don’t eat beef. As exception, very few Indians throughout India consume , Beef. 99\% of Indian Brahmin don’t eat Non- Veg . Hence it applies for beef.

Can Brahmin eat beef?

Historically, all Indian masses, including the Brahmins, used to eat beef, both in what is called the Vedic and the post-Vedic period. Gautam Buddha rebelled against this tradition because during his time there was a huge consumption of beef by the priestly class. They would eat even dead or diseased cattle.

Are Brahmins allowed to eat chicken?

Well, there are certain Brahmin communities who traditionally eat non vegetarian, (and for the worse, chicken – which is traditionally forbidden food among the meats) because of their allegiance to non Vedic religions.

Vegetarianism was practised by the Brahmin caste (the highest Hindu caste made up of priests) and was at the top of the hierarchy of dietary regimes. Brahmins from Kashmir, for example, (a state in the north of India) eat meat whereas Brahmins from Bengal (a state in the east of India) eat fish.
