What weapons work well underwater?

The only melee weapons which can be used effectively underwater are daggers, javelins, short swords, spears, and tridents.

Would plasma weapons work underwater?

Plasma based weapons need to fire a ball of super heated plasma at an enemy. the problem is that the weight of that plasma would be very low, so it would slow down through water exceedingly quickly and the water would drain all the heat from the shot, very quickly boiling the water right next to the person firing.

Which is more powerful railgun or Coilgun?

The advantages of rail guns is that they are much simpler to build and operate than a coil gun. They are also more powerful as they have a direct contact between the projectile and the rails while the coil gun has a gap between them.

What weapon is best underwater?

Well, for starters,we know that Harpoon guns work really well underwater. This thing can be easily repurposed for underwater warfare due to the fact that It is well-suitted for underwater use. Another weapon that can be used underwater is the APS Assault rifle,or as I like to call It ‘Underwater Kalashnikov’.

Does Sacred Flame work underwater?

It’s magic, it works. Unless a spell description states it is affected by other conditions, assume it is not. That means no lightning bolt + water interactions either. Even a fire spell would work underwater.

Can lasers work underwater?

Yes the laser emission itself will travel through water, accounting for refraction. But as for most laser devices, they are not water resistant. However, you can get water resistant lasers nowadays so you should have no problem.

Can laser weapons work underwater?

The US Navy is planning to arm nuclear submarines with high-energy laser weapons, according to Popular Mechanics. But there’s just one problem, according to the magazine: Laser weapons basically don’t work underwater, where laser light scatters and gets absorbed almost immediately.

Why are coilguns so inefficient?

Why do I think coilguns are so inefficient? Because they inherently have a long “air gap” down the middle of the firing tube. It builds in a relatively huge amount of magnetic reluctance in the magnetic circuit.

Do gauss rifles exist?

Gauss rifles are not used because they do not currently exist. The reason Gauss rifle do not exist is this: Gauss guns require a lot of power. There are no batteries at this time that can power a Gauss gun and still fit into a man-portable weapon.

How fast can railgun shoot?

Railguns are being researched as weapons with projectiles that do not contain explosives or propellants, but are given extremely high velocities: 2,500 m/s (8,200 ft/s) (approximately Mach 7 at sea level) or more.

Can antimatter be used as a weapon?

An antimatter weapon is a theoretically possible device using antimatter as a power source, a propellant, or an explosive for a weapon. Annihilation requires and converts exactly equal masses of antimatter and matter by the collision which releases the entire mass-energy of both, which for 1 gram is ~9×1013 joules.

Should I get a railgun or a coilgun?

Rail gun rails in particular are subject to a lot of wear even from normal use. Railgun for one they can fire faster because the rails do not need to be deactivated. Also, with a coilgun you need capacitors which can fry easy. So railgun is my preferred choice.

Would a rail gun be suitable for infantry?

This weapon is probably not suitable for infantry use. One advantage of a rail gun would be if you ran out of loads but still had power you could just jam the rails against and enemy and pull the trigger. The impedance would be higher, causing the voltage between the rails to be higher.

Why can’t you touch the rails of a railgun?

The forces applied to the railgun try to rip the rails apart. The recoil from the projectile also supplies a recoil like a chemical slug thrower. Each rail conducts high voltage and amperage current. Touching or getting close to one of the rails would be exceedingly dangerous. This weapon is probably not suitable for infantry use.

How does a coilgun work?

The coils are switched on and off in a precisely timed sequence, causing the projectile to be accelerated quickly along the barrel via magnetic forces. Coilguns are distinct from railguns, as the direction of acceleration in a railgun is at right angles to the central axis of the current loop formed by the conducting rails.
