What are we really made of?

For as complicated as humans (and other life) are, 99\% of our bodies are composed of just six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. There are two big ways to look at how ‘much’ of humans is a specific element: mass and atomic percent.

What are we humans basically made out of?

Roughly 96 percent of the mass of the human body is made up of just four elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen, with a lot of that in the form of water. The remaining 4 percent is a sparse sampling of the periodic table of elements.

Are we made of stardust?

Planetary scientist and stardust expert Dr Ashley King explains. ‘It is totally 100\% true: nearly all the elements in the human body were made in a star and many have come through several supernovas.

How was human born?

The first human ancestors appeared between five million and seven million years ago, probably when some apelike creatures in Africa began to walk habitually on two legs. They were flaking crude stone tools by 2.5 million years ago. Then some of them spread from Africa into Asia and Europe after two million years ago.

How is the human body made?

Almost 99\% of the mass of the human body is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Only about 0.85\% is composed of another five elements: potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium.

Are humans a solid?

The human body is a complex mixture of all phases of matter except plasma (the very hot stuff not the blood fluid) and including gas. Skin and flesh may seem fairly solid but are in fact a mass of cells of many types.

Is it possible for a human to fly?

Humans are not physically designed to fly. We cannot create enough lift to overcome the force of gravity (or our weight). Their light frame and hollow bones make it easier to counteract gravity. Air sacs inside their bodies make birds lighter, which enables smoother motion through air.

All living things, including vertebrates, have genes. These are like little instruction booklets inside our bodies that decide how we grow and what our bodies can do. So one main reason humans can’t grow wings is because our genes only let us grow arms and legs.
