Should I take math AA or AI?

Generally speaking, the Analysis and Approaches (AA) course provides a very classical approach to mathematics. If you enjoy maths, but would like to see the practical applications of mathematics in the world of finance and the natural sciences amongst others then AI is a better fit for you.

Is math AA harder than math AI?

Math AI is easier in my opinion. You get to use calculators for all of your exams. In Math AA there is a lot more calculus and a portion of your exams will have to be done without a calculator.

Is math AA HL hard?

Relatively, HL math is less “difficult” than a traditional Calculus course because it does not go into as much depth as would the traditional course. However, there is one large caveat: HL math should look at the relationship of math to your other IB courses.

Is IB maths harder than a level?

Thanks Bondgirl, His Maths teacher has now confirmed that the IB higher Maths is harder than A level Maths. I didn’t expect an answer at the weekend, though! So, in theory, universities should adjust their requirements accordingly.

Math is pretty straight forward; IA SL is the easiest, moving up to AA HL as the hardest. Hence, students weak at Math should choose the IA SL level of math. However, from a statistical POV, Further Math HL has the highest 7’s, with 35\%. That’s probably because they’re all geniuses…

The only way that is going to help you get a grade 7 is by practising math for about an hour every day, You should be done with all the concepts! Learn the concepts as though they are the bible of your life and the only aim to get a 7….

Is AI HL harder than AA HL?

Although Maths HL is of the same level as Maths AA HL, the syllabus amendment made it easier. And Maths AI, because it is applied maths, it would be simpler compared to AA.

What classes do you need to take to get an IB?

To receive your IB Diploma, you must take classes from all six categories. Note that you may study an additional science, individuals and societies, or languages course instead of an arts course. You must also complete what is known as the core, which includes an additional class called Theory of Knowledge (TOK).

How is the IB Diploma Programme graded?

• Performance in each of the six IB diploma subjects is graded on a scale of 1 point (minimum) to 7 points (maximum). • A maximum of 3 points is awarded for combined performance in Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay.
