Is the James Webb Telescope already outdated?
This will allow it to observe high redshift objects that are too old and too distant for Hubble to observe….This article documents a current or recent spaceflight.

How long will the James Webb Telescope last?
The final test comes roughly 29 days from today, when JWST fires its onboard thrusters and puts itself into its final orbit 1 million miles from Earth. There it will live out the rest of its life, always pointed away from the Sun, until it runs out of fuel in five or 10 years.
Where is Webb going?
Unlike the Hubble Space Telescope and thousands of other satellites, Webb won’t orbit Earth. Webb is now journeying to Lagrange point 2, aka L2, which is almost 1 million miles (1.5 million km) behind Earth as viewed from the sun … or about four times the moon’s distance.
When will the Webb Space Telescope launch?
James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a telescope that will be put into space. It is planned to be launched in 2019. It is a replacement for the Hubble Space Telescope which was launched in 1990.
When will JWST launch?
NASA ’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), earlier scheduled for launch in October 2018, will now take at least another 6 months before it succeeds Hubble Space Telescope as the most powerful eye in the sky. JWST will now launch between March and June 2019, NASA announced Thursday.
When is James Webb launch?
James Webb will now launch in 2020. Launching a project of this size and scope will be an amazing achievement, but it is not without its challenges. Each part of the observatory must undergo rigorous testing, often both separately and once integrated into the whole, before it can be considered fit for launch.
