Spanish is definitely easier to learn than German. German grammar is considered a bit harder comparatively. Spanish is quite similar to English. Spanish being a romance language, you can correlate most of its words with English.

Spanish is more difficult than German grammatically, too many verb conjugations, way complex subjunctive, gender in almost everything. My guess is that for native speakers of Spanish it would take them roughly about six months to a year to learn how to speak Portuguese fluently while for Brazilians it would take them from three to six months tops to learn how to speak fluent Spanish.
