Is Credit Sesame vs credit Karma score more accurate?

Credit Karma provides access to more financial services (like tax prep and the unclaimed money finder). Credit Sesame makes it easier to get an overall view of your situation on its dashboard.

Is Credit Sesame your real credit score?

The credit score you see on Credit Sesame is based on the VantageScore® 3.0 scoring model and provided by TransUnion. It is a real credit score, and it is not the TransUnion Risk Score, which is a score that was merely an educational credit score and not used by lenders.

Why is my credit score different on Credit Sesame?

Many of the different credit score models have industry-specific uses, like mortgage, credit cards or auto loans. Because of this, the credit score you see on Credit Sesame may differ from the score a lender sees when you apply for credit. This is normal.

How far off is Credit Sesame?

Credit Sesame pulls your credit information once a month from TransUnion and also uses VantageScore to determine your credit score. As such, it can be said to be reasonably reliable. However, it updates your score with less frequency and with information from only one bureau instead of Credit Karma’s two.

Is there something better than Credit Karma?

Credit Sesame offers a few more options to help you improve your credit score. While Credit Karma focuses on financial offers — credit cards and lenders — Credit Sesame also refers you to services that can help with delinquencies or late payments on your report.

Should you use Credit Karma?

The short answer is no, using Credit Karma does not lower your credit scores. Credit Karma requests your credit report information on your behalf. This is known as a soft inquiry, and it won’t impact your scores. Hard inquiries, on the other hand, can influence your credit scores.
