  3. Select Import as a New Model or Add to Existing Model, then specify which objects, loads, etc. will be replaced or kept in the event that they occur in the same location.

How do I assign a load on ETABS?

Select the frame objects and go to Assign > Frame loads > Distributed, then scale their magnitude according to tributary allocation. Area loads – Similarly, apply shell loads by selecting the wall and going to Assign > Shell loads > Uniform or Non-Uniform loads.

What is stiff in safe?

Answer: In real structures, there is an extremely stiff region within the connections which join columns and walls to slabs. The “Col_Stiff” elements are stiff area elements in which the software amplifies moment of inertia by 100 times to capture the increased stiffness of these connections.

How to export from ETABS to safe?

There are 3 options to Export from ETABS to SAFE: 1) Floor loads: This is a common option and should be used for most gravity floor systems, when there is no transfer of loads from floors above, or the floors from above has small influence on floor being exported

How to assign rigid and semi-rigid diaphragm in ETABS?

1- Shell rigid diaphragm must be explicitly assigned to null areas in ETABS for their loads/additional mass to be included in modal analysis (seismic mass). 2- For semi-rigid diaphragms, the contained areas are recommended to be assigned with the same structural properties of the base slab in lieu of null areas.
