How did Boromir feel about Aragorn?
Boromir didn’t hate Aragorn, but he didn’t like the thought that there would be a king in Gondor. So it wasn’t that Boromir disliked Aragorn, it was that he disliked Aragorn being king. Boromir is the son of Denethor. He trusts and is loyal to his father more than anyone else.
What would have happened if Boromir lived?
Had Boromir lived, there would have been no use for the character in the story. An analogy would be Thorin’s death in The Hobbit. Without it, he would have just seemed like any epic hero. Why did Boromir call Aragorn his king?
He might have accepted that Aragorn had the willpower to resist the ring, while Boromir did not, and that this was a sign of Aragorn (moral & dunedain bloodline) superiority. How long would Boromir have lived?
So Boromir, barring accident or injury, would likely have lived to 120 years. That is a good long life for a man of Numenorean blood at the beginning of the Fourth Age. This comes, perhaps, from the elvish influence on his mother’s side, as well as from the purity of the line of the House of Stewards.
