Why is the motion of a body moving in a circular path said to be accelerated?

Why is the motion of a body moving in a circular path said to be accelerated?

The motion of a body which is moving with constant speed in a circular path is said to be accelerated because its velocity changes continuously due to the continuous change in the direction of motion.

Why does a body move in a circle?

centripetal acceleration, the acceleration of a body traversing a circular path. Because velocity is a vector quantity (that is, it has both a magnitude, the speed, and a direction), when a body travels on a circular path, its direction constantly changes and thus its velocity changes, producing an acceleration.

Why do we say that a particle moving in a circle with a uniform speed still has an acceleration?

Answer: An object undergoing uniform circular motion is moving with a constant speed. Nonetheless, it is accelerating due to its change in direction. The direction of the acceleration is inwards.

Is the motion of a body uniform or accelerated?

Answer :- The motion of the body will be uniform. Because the body is moving in moving round the sun with the constant speed in a circular orbit.

What is the shape of the path of a body when it is in uniform motion?

What is the shape of the path of a body when it is in uniform motion? Straight path.

When a body is moving in a curved path?

Answer: Yes if the body is travelling with uniform speed in a circular track its speed remains the same but the velocity is non-uniform as the direction of the body is changing every time. For example, consider a vehicle moving with a constant speed on a circular path.

Do you mean by uniform circular motion?

Uniform circular motion can be described as the motion of an object in a circle at a constant speed. As an object moves in a circle, it is constantly changing its direction. An object undergoing uniform circular motion is moving with a constant speed.

When a body moves at an angle to the direction of force work done is given by the expression?

To express this concept mathematically, the work W is equal to the force f times the distance d, or W = fd. If the force is being exerted at an angle θ to the displacement, the work done is W = fd cos θ.

When a body moves in a circle?

When a body or object moves in a circle, it is said to be in a circular motion. That is we can say that motion in a circle is a circular motion. When a body or object moves along a circular path, then its direction of motion or direction of speed keeps changing continuously.

Why is the motion along a circular path called accelerated?

Since, the velocity changes with the continuous change in direction, therefore, the motion along a circular path is said to be accelerated. When a body moves in a circular path with uniform speed or constant speed, its motion is known as Uniform Circular motion.

What is the direction of velocity change along a circle?

At the midpoint along the arc connecting points A and B, the velocity change is directed towards point C – the center of the circle. The acceleration of the object is dependent upon this velocity change and is in the same direction as this velocity change.

Why is the motion of a particle in a circle uniform?

If a particle is moving in a circle, it must have some acceleration acting towards the centre which is making it move around the centre. Since this acceleration is perpendicular to the velocity of a particle at every instant, it is only changing the direction of velocity and not magnitude and that’s why the motion is uniform circular motion.
