Moria was inconveniently distant from Sauron’s and Saruman’s bases of operations. The Orcs of Moria did send the mithril that they found there in tribute to Sauron, according to Gandalf. But they might not have been interested in any case. Sauron probably couldn’t offer them anything better than what they already had.
