Third: This generation consists of the more recent ones. EXO, B.A.P., BTS, Monsta X, Wanna One, Red Velvet, NCT, Blackpink, CLC, G-idle, Gfriend, etc. These artists were more honed to become worldwide artists. I like to think that they cater more to the international demands rather than just local.

When did K-Pop 3 start?
3rd gen started around 2014 and will be going on for a couple more years yet, at least. The oversaturation of Kpop is not some new phenomenon of the current generation, it happened all through 2nd gen just as well, maybe even earlier.

GG are 2nd gen. But from 2019, unless those artists already debuted before, I think we can call them 4th gen. There are however many factors that influence this. I think TXT and ITZY would be 4th gen, but if I’m talking about 1Team, I’d call them 3rd gen.
