Should I take physics or AP Environmental Science?
AP Physics is far more useful than AP Environmental science. AP Physics is widely accepted for credit. APES isn’t. AP Physics can knock out pre-reqs for many STEM majors.
Can I take AP Physics 1 and 2 in the same year?
Yes, you can take AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2 Exams, as well as one or both of the AP Physics C Exams, in the same year. Learn more about these AP courses.
Is AP Environmental Science a full year class?
The AP Environmental Science course is designed to be the equivalent of a one-semester, introductory college course in environmental science, through which students engage with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships within the natural world.
Should I take AP Physics or AP Chem?
You shouldn’t take AP Chemistry without first taking an introductory Chem class, as the pace of the class is too fast to absorb all of that information for the first time. You should take a physics class before taking Physics C, but you don’t necessarily need one for Physics 1 and 2.
Should I take AP Chem before ap?
AP Biology and AP Chemistry are college courses that are usually taken after biology and chemistry. If you are substituting AP biology for high school biology and AP Chemistry for high school chemistry, I recommend you do AP biology before AP Chemistry because AP Chemistry uses mathematics.
Is AP Physics 1 or AP Chem harder?
Both are hard. In fact chemistry and physics 1 have the lowest passing rates of any AP exam. Having taken both, I found chemistry harder, but other found physics harder.
Do colleges prefer AP bio or AP Physics?
I would opt for AP Physics if planning to do an engineering or science major other than biology. If you are looking to study biology, medicine, or anything else, like humanities or business, then take AP Biology. No real need to take both.
Can AP Physics C run without Physics 1?
Yes. In fact at my high school, a well regarded Science and Technology Magnet program, at least half of the students in the senior level AP Physics C course did not take AP Physics 1, myself included. Instead I took our junior level Physics S/T course that was required of all juniors not taking AP1/AP2 over two years.
Can you take both AP Physics C exams?
The AP Physics C Exams are college-level exams administered every year in May upon the completion of an Advanced Placement Physics C course taken at your high school. You can take one or both of these exams.
How difficult is AP environmental science?
AP Environmental Science is often viewed as one of the easiest AP courses available. This aside, it is still a college level class meant to be challenging as an AP, and as such contains tough material for students to learn. AP Environmental Science is often viewed as one of the easiest AP courses available.
Is AP Physics 1 a good class to take?
This is a class that students should highly consider if they are at all interested in engineering. AP Physics 1 can be very challenging and requires quite a bit of math, so if you shy away from equations, this class may not be the right fit for you.
What classes do you need to take to take Physics?
You need to take algebra and trigonometry before this class, and a normal physics class is recommended. You don’t necessarily need that normal physics class, but it can ease your transition to AP Physics 1. I would recommend this course for juniors and seniors. AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based
Is AP Biology a good class?
AP Biology is fast paced, but there are tons of labs that make it really interesting. If you are considering a career in the lab sciences, you should try to fit this course in before college. Juniors and seniors are best suited for this class, as I would not recommend taking it without normal bio and chemistry.
Is Apes a good class to take?
This class is lab based and may include fun field trips as well. If you are a student who is interested in conservation, or simply does not want to take any of the other AP science classes, APES is a great choice. This is a class that students should highly consider if they are at all interested in engineering.
