Is Shisui in the Naruto manga?

Although his encounter with Danzō was unseen in the manga, it was portrayed in Itachi Shinden: Book of Dark Night novel, the anime and Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution OVA, albeit each differently. In the novel, Shisui was attacked by Danzō and Sugaru from the Aburame clan, whose insects poisoned Shisui.

Is Shisui Canon in Naruto?

There are no canon appearances of it. Shisui technically gained the Susano’o the moment he awakened his Mangekyou Sharingan in both eyes. However, it was never explicitly shown in the series. It debuted in a video game (though Kishimoto himself designed his Susano’o for the game).

Could Itachi have saved Shisui?
