Some people diet because they have a poor body image, rather than because they want to eat nutritionally well, or be in a healthy weight range. While it is important to maintain healthy eating behaviours, dieting can lead to physical illness and depression, especially if your weight goes up and down after dieting.

What are my eating habits that need to be improved changed?

Here are some ways to make healthy changes in your eating habits:

  • Keep more fruits, low-fat dairy products (low-fat milk and low-fat yogurt), vegetables, and whole-grain foods at home and at work.
  • Try to eat a family meal every day at the kitchen or dining table.
  • Buy a healthy-recipe book, and cook for yourself.
