Can I use Microsoft Word to write a novel?

One of the benefits of using Microsoft Word to make books is that Word’s pages are, by default, set up for auto flow. You don’t have to connect pages or text boxes – just let your writing flow from your brain to the keyboard and onto the Word book pages.

Create a booklet or book

  1. Go to Layout and select the Page Setup dialog launch icon at the bottom-right corner.
  2. On the Margins tab, change the setting for Multiple pages to Book fold.
  3. Select and increase the value of Gutter to reserve space on the inside fold for binding.
  4. Go to the Paper tab and select the Paper size.
