What does joining the Blades do?
The primary advantage of joining the Blades is that you can use anything in Cloud Ruler Temple (beds, a free horse, free weapons in the Armory, books, etc). You are given an Akaviri Katana upon joining. There is no advancement in this faction, nor are there any associated quests.
What happens if Lydia joins the blades?
Lydia, like most followers, has the option of being recruited into The Blades by being brought to Delphine at Sky Haven Temple after the quest Alduin’s Wall is completed. She can still be recruited as a follower, but her default Steel apparel will be replaced with a full set of Blades Armor and a Blades sword.

How do I get people to join the Blades?
To recruit someone into the blades:
- They need to be your current follower. If you currently have a follower that you don’t wish to recruit, tell them that it’s time to “Part Ways”, and they will return to their home.
- Travel with your potential recruit to see Delphine.
Who is the leader of the blades?
The Blades reformed with the return of the dragons. They are led by acting Grandmaster Delphine, one of the last surviving members, and are based in Sky Haven Temple.
