What is the purpose of work?

Work, besides making money, is meaningful daily life activity — making something, serving someone, providing something of worth to others (either individually or to the community in which you live [local or globally]).

Why is working so important?

Work helps you gain a sense of pride and self-satisfaction by reaffirming that you can support yourself. With work, you earn money to cover bills and pay for activities in your leisure time. It’s becoming more common to see people with disabilities in a wide range of jobs throughout the community.

What is the value of work?

Work values are beliefs or principles relating to your career or place of work. They describe what you believe matters regarding your career. For instance, some people believe that getting a sense of achievement through their work is a core priority in their career.

Why do we work to live?

We work because we want to live better lives, and to do that we need to have a way to make an income. For most of us, that means a job. And when it’s treated like a tool, we’re able to control our efforts in a way that creates a better life for ourselves and our loved ones.
