Is it possible to have 200 alters?
A person living with DID may have as few as two alters or as many as 100. The average number is about 10. Often alters are stable over time, continuing to play specific roles in the person’s life for years.
Why do Endogenic systems exist?
Endogenic systems are systems derived, typically, by natural development, forgotten trauma due to inner amnesia, and/or religious beliefs. These systems are made of Others, essentially other people in the mind/body, they don’t always “front” like a DID system, they could just be in the “headspace.”

Endogenic plurality is a catch-all term for non-traumagenic plurals (headmates that do not originate from trauma). The word “endogenic” comes from the prefix “endo-” meaning “internal/within”, combined with the suffix “-genic” meaning “produced or caused by”. The label was coined by The Lunastus Collective.
Does a person with multiple personality disorder know they have it?
Usually those with a multiple personality, or dissociative identity disorder, will recognize that something is abnormal due to symptoms like amnesia but they may not realize it is due to having alters or personalities that are taking over to handle triggers or exposure to trauma.
Can you have 100 alters?
Some people with DID have up to 100 alters. Alters tend to be very different from one another. The identities might have different genders, ethnicities, interests and ways of interacting with their environments.
Was Sybil a real person?
Shirley Mason was the psychiatric patient whose life was portrayed in the 1973 book Sybil. The book and subsequent film caused an enormous spike in reported cases of multiple personality disorder. Mason later admitted she had faked her multiple personalities.
Can you have did without trauma?

They are not a part of a game. Fictives are real. They can hold memories and can experience trauma just as any other alter can.
